161 students embark on bridging skills gap with TMA’s 2018 classes

SCHAUMBURG – Bridging the dreaded “skills gap” is the challenge 161 students have undertaken this fall at the Technology & Manufacturing Association’s renowned training program.
The students’ skills training is funded by employers that want to see their employees increase understanding of manufacturing. They also hope to advance their skills in an red hot economy that demands highly-trained shop teams.
This year, 79 employers are sending their team members to TMA for hands-on training, said Leigh Coglianese, TMA’s Training & Education coordinator.
Ten instructors are teaching classes at TMA this year: Rod DeVries, Dave Haener, Russ Hayden, Cornel Ionita, Ryan Johnson, Jonny Netz, Rich Nielsen, Diego Sanchez, Chris Saragaglia, under the supervision of TMA’s Senior Instructor Jack Krikorian.
TMA’s Vice President of Education & Training Patrick Osborne organizes and oversees TMA’s training program, well-known throughout the region as the industry’s “gold standard” in training.
