SCHAUMBURG – Just down the street from TMA’s Schaumburg Training Headquarters, hundreds of the next generation of machinists and engineers will compete their precision machining projects on May 9th.
TMA’s 28th Annual Precision Machining Competition will be held at Mazak Corporation to recognize the best high school projects – judged by skilled machinists and engineers volunteering their expertise.
The competitions are separated into four divisions.
Division I’s first, second and third place winners will be announced for the best Angle Set, Punch Set, and Milling End Stop.
Division II awards will be given for the best Drill Press Vise, Hack Saw Frame and 123 Block.
The best Drill Offset V-Block, Sine Bar and Fixture Box will be recognized in PMC’s Division III category.
The best NIMS Intermediate and Advanced Division projects will be awarded, as will CNC NIMS Intermediate Division projects in CNC Milling and CNC Turning. CNC NIMS Advanced Division projects in CNC Programming for Milling and Turning will also be recognized.
In the CNC CAM Division, Basic and Intermediate projects will be recognized.
Finally, the Design CAD Division will also be awarded.
The 2019 Precision Machining Competition awards ceremony will begin with project viewing at 5:00 PM and end at 7:30 PM at Mazak, 300 Commerce Drive in Schaumburg, Illinois.
