Nearly one in 10 Illinois workers is employed in a company related to manufacturing, a sector of the state economy worth $101 billion. Illinois employs 571,800 factory workers in its 13,000 manufacturing companies.

It is pretty clear manufacturing is relevant and crucial to the state’s economy.
