CARY GROVE – The Technology & Manufacturing Association’s Education Foundation delivered a check for $22,011 to the Cary Grove High School’s Industry and Careers Department May 1, 2018.
Mike Manning, the department head, requested the funds this year to buy two MSC lathes with DRP’s to match their existing MSC lathe. TMA’s Education Foundation has provided financial assistance to expand the school’s program over the past five years.
This year’s addition funded by TMA sets Cary-Grove students with six machines they can work on simultaneously. Manning said the addition should be the “finishing touch” on their manual machining lab until they are able to gain more space to expand the lab.
Currently, Cary-Grove High School offers the following manufacturing training:
- Metals I, II, & Seminar
- Sheet Metal, Tap and Die, Welding, Mill, & Lathe projects
- CNC Lab
- CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, CNC Router, CNC Plasma Cutter, Laser Cutter, 3D Printing, NIMS Certification
