SCHAUMBURG – District 214 high school students will receive their junior Related Theory certificates Thursday, March 5 at Technology & Manufacturing Association’s Schaumburg headquarters. Not only will these students be recognized for completing the required coursework, they will have an opportunity to speak with potential employers at a career fair.
Manufacturers, while stepping into a busy and demanding business phase for American companies, are facing a shortage of candidates trained and prepared to enter lucrative and interesting manufacturing careers.
TMA has been in a five-year partnership with District 214, working with high school students that have completed manufacturing technology courses at Wheeling, Rolling Meadows, and Elk Grove High Schools.
“We will host an event at TMA that will tie in presentation of these certificates with a job fair for students looking to begin their careers in manufacturing,” said Leigh Conglianese, manager of TMA’s training and education programs.
